A delegation from the University of Jeddah came to visit “Ospedali Riuniti” of Foggia where, thanks to the recent agreement deal with Itel, was equipped with a Pet / Tac that allows the precise identification of neuroendocrine tumors

On November 3rd, the President of the Medicine Faculty of King Abdulaziz University of Jeddah, Mahmoud Shaheen Al-Ahwal, together with the general and administrative directors, Mohammed Najeeb G. Khayat and Ali Amjad, visited the new nuclear medicine department of “Ospedali Riuniti” in Foggia to see and study the technical solutions adopted there, in order to create a similar department in the most important University of Saudi Arabia.
The visit is closely linked to the recent agreement signed with the pharmaceutical company of Itel in Ruvo di Puglia, which has becoming part of an international network of research and development of radiopharmaceuticals, providing it, among other things, with a Pet / Tac with a new tracer that allows more precise and accurate detection of neuroendocrine tumors, the so-called Net.
The guests were welcomed by the medical director Laura Moffa and by the director of the nuclear medicine facility Sergio Modoni, accompaining them in visiting the department, showing how technological innovation can be combined with possible lines of research in the perspective of scientific collaboration.
